I grew up in a fairly small town called Sams Town, Louisiana. I remember how when I was a kid, this town was a real community-oriented community. In fact, the casino was one of the biggest businesses here. I am pretty sure that there was a casino right by the town square, and my mom and I regularly visited the casino in the 1980’s. I think the casino was so big that it had a pool that was used for swimming and for tournaments.
It sure was. It was the largest casino in the state of Louisiana, and to me that meant more than just a casino. It meant I was part of the community, too. That, and the casino was always the focal point of the annual Sams Town Fourth of July Parade.
As part of the parade, Sam’s Town’s entire community band would gather in town to perform. The band was made up of Sam’s Town residents, local bands, local musicians, and Sam’s Town kids. They all would perform in the parade, and everyone always made some sort of musical contribution to the parade. That, and the casino would always be the place that everyone from both sides of the parade attended together.
In Sams Town, everyone knows each other, so the casino was always the place to hang out. But now Sams Town is going to be a new town, so it’s time to get a little more out of their casino, so to speak.
You can get a little more out of the casino by getting a few of the older guys out. It can be hard to tell who’s who by the sheer size of the community, but a local musician who does a live show in the casino is the best kind. You can even get some of the older guys out to kick the shit out of the casino.
It’s funny how things can happen so fast when we’re not expecting it. You can get some of the older guys out in town. It’s a nice little side-story that you can get in the casino, but it’s not a big secret that you’re getting them out. There’s a lot of tension when you’re trying to get the older guys out.
