Most of my life was spent working in the ocean, and when I was a kid, I used to spend a lot of time in the ocean. I can’t really explain why this is, but I think the most important thing to remember when swimming is that you should always know where you are in the water, and your body will help you find that.
The last part is true. The problem is that most of us are too busy to worry about our bodies. We just go out and swim into it, and then we get all upset when we don’t find where we are. So the key is to be able to identify where you are in the water, and then to simply swim and not get upset.
This is just one example of what I meant by this. Another good one is the fact that our brain has a built-in safety system that tells us when we get too close to a dangerous object. This system is called the vestibulo-ocular reflex, and it works by a series of reflexes that tell our eyes to move forward and then back.
Not all of us are made the same, so we can’t just simply say, “Oh, well, I’m going to swim,” and then swim. Our brains will have other ideas and we’ll be upset when we don’t find where we are. This is one of the first steps to take to avoid being upset.
Like it or not, we are all made to be sensitive to our surroundings and the things around us. This includes our eyes. This is why we have our eyes on a particular direction. This is why we need to keep them on a certain direction. This is why we have a vestibulo-ocular reflex. We all have a built-in safety system that tells us when we get too close to a dangerous object. This system is called the vestibulo-ocular reflex.
We all have a vestibulo-ocular reflex, but what’s really important is how we use it. It is a reflex that uses our eyes to see things and to listen for sounds and to sense the way in which we are sitting.
The vestibulo-ocular reflex is not just a reflex that tells us when to look away from a dangerous object, it is a system that actually works. We are used to getting things from our eyes (like our vision) and then hearing them (like our ears) and then judging how we want them to move (like our hands).
Vaught says that the vestibulo-ocular reflex “is a sensory module that acts as a sensor: it detects the orientation of a body part, and it can translate that orientation into sensory input. The sensor and the sensory module are part of the same circuit.” So a vestibulo-ocular reflex is exactly like the sight and hearing in your brain. In fact, the vestibulo-ocular reflex is a reflex that works like our eyes.
All of our senses are sensory modules in the brain, but they are also sensory modules that act like our eyes. That is why we can see that a particular spot is in the sky when we hear it, and it’s the same with taste and smell and touch.
Just like our eyes, our vestibulo-ocular reflex is built into the brain. It’s a reflex that we use to orient ourselves in space. But the vestibulo-ocular reflex is even more powerful than that. It works so well that it allows us to see something that is entirely out of our range of vision. And that’s the point of the vestibulo-ocular reflex. It’s like having one sense in one place and another at another place.
